What can I say? I’ve fallen in love with Cuba – the people, the place, the rawness of it. Maybe at first I was drawn because it was ‘novel’ – off-limits to most tourists, but open to cultural programs of exchange, and I was one of the privileged to be leading tours legally. Many had gone before me and after me, illegally, because the draw was just too great – a country closed off from us yet so close to us geographically. We just had to see it for ourselves. My collection of images from Cuba will be one of my remembered and favorited collections. This is collection #1, a beginning.

Brenda Tharp’s collection of color and black and white photographs of Cuba includes landscapes, nature details, people, portraits, travel scenes, architecture, farming, tobacco culture.
