Deserts, mountains, wildlife, giant aloes, abandoned towns, rural villages, cities and traditional tribes all mix together in this country of Namibia. The wild areas are perforated with privately held wilderness and preserves, game ranches, and deep canyons. In just two visits, I have fallen for the mystique of this place. The animals intrigue me, but the landscapes of remote, windswept, arid places, the tall sand dunes, ancient camelthorn tree skeletons and boulder strewn hills do so even more. I can’t wait to return, but this is a collection of my favorites thus far.
