I have a collection of trees because I think they represent resilience, and strength, and they add much-needed oxygen to our planet. They withstand harsh elements of wind, rain, hail, snow, and are ‘beat up’ throughout the seasons when Mother Nature is harsh, yet they survive. I love hardwoods for the change of season that bursts them all into flaming colors; I love the blossoming trees such as dogwood and redbud, and even the subtle colors of trees leafing out in Spring. And the bristlecone, ,that can shut all but 10% of itself down in times of drought, so that it can survive. Simply amazing. Wherever I go, I see and photograph trees. I was once touring an old coffee plantation in Cuba and spotted trees with incredible bark – and half my group was soon on their knees making pictures of trees. I’m not sure we got the tour guide to understand…
